Welcome to Mud Snake Magazine!

Logo MSM with a textured black snake forming the letter 'S' in the center. acronym for the magazine name - Mud Snake Magazine

Night-living, water-loving, sun-basking, and tree-hugging, the Western mud snake of Texas stands as a true icon of the vibrant, mud-soaked underbelly known only to those who cultivate the earth—not try to conquer it.

Like our namesake, Mud Snake Magazine seeks out art that crawls in the dirt and lingers in the dark. Our team is committed to centering voices from writers who are BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or from communities that have long been underrepresented in literary spaces.
